We recently got back from our trip to Panama. We had to leave the country for at least 72 hours and found great, cheap tickets to visit Panama City. Fortunately for us the intern (Jamie, Josh, and Andy) decided to come with us and were a great help with the girls.
First day we spent touring the locks at the Panama canal.
Not a great family photo but it shows us in true form- worn out by the hot sun but loving watching these huge boats come through. Seeing the canal was one of the coolest things I have seen in all my life.
Lucy got to experience a "first" in Panama with her first ride on a merry go round. She was a little afraid but excited to get to ride with Jamie, who was also her sleeping partner all week (a BIG excitement for a 2 year old).
Here is Lucy posing for a picture, she went up beside this big tree looked at the camera and said cheese without us even having the camera ready so we had to take a picture of her.
This is us at Panama Viejo which is the old ruins of the city which was destroyed by Pirates. This picture has something to do with Captain Morgan....
Panama is a huge financial district due to the canal and it felt more like we were in the states with all the skyscrapers than Central America. We even got to enjoy some fun American things like- Dairy Queen!!
This was a beautiful walkway by the ocean with lots of outdoor markets. Once again another hot tired family shot.
The intern with the kids. We are going to miss these guys sooo much when the leave.
This is a first for Josh. He loves playing and holding Lucy but ever since Ellie was born he hasn't been thrilled about holding a newborn so we gave him the bjorn and he walked around the city with great confidence. I think he and Ellie now have a special bond.
Lucy playing in the city park. By the way you might be curious about the sunglasses by now. They were a gift from our neighbor here and she is OBSESSED with them. Any time we go outside and there is a hint of sun she screams SUNGLASSES!
This is another part of Old Panama where all the buildings and cathedrals are left from the Spanish influence. Walking around you feel like you are Europe.
This is the end of the trip. At this point we are about 30 min. away from home. We are all exhausted as you can tell. It is hard traveling with 2 little ones but overall they were great troopers. Us girls came home alone for a couple of days while Sean stayed in San Pedro Sula looking for us a van. More news on that to come!

So proud of you guys...that was a BIG undertaking to do that you did in Panama...WOW! Great Photos too, love those little girls! PC was one place we wanted to visit while we were here in CR but never did, maybe some time in the future.
After today we are out of school for Semana Santa and then return the 13th for ECOs, not great planning if you ask me. Pray for us that day especially.
I actually was curious about the sunglasses....looks like a great trip. I enjoyed a little taste of Panama. You might should explain the lack of carseat use.

Oh, yay! Panama! I think the Bridge of the Americas is the most beautiful bridge in the world... I'm sure the backdrop has nothing to do with it. :)
So glad ya'll are doing well.
