Quite A Sunday

Today we went to our first church service at Nueva Vide, our Spanish-speaking church. We left our apartment at 9:45 to catch the subway to Queens. We arrived at 11 for the service and then promptly sat through 90 minutes of singing. When that was over, they dismissed the kids for Sunday School. Sean went with the kids to help while Lins stayed in the service with Lucy (the nursury had about 30 kids from 0-2 and no workers, just moms). Sunday School got out around 2:15, but the service was still going (that's right, 3 1/2 hours and counting).

Needless to say we were a bit hungry, but we weren't going to let a little hunger stop us, so back on the subway to Manhattan. Unfortunantly, our train wasn't running because of construction, so we waited 20 mintues for another train that dropped us off in West Harlem, a mere 20 minute hike home. We arrived home from church at 4:30, sweating like pigs, and promply stripped down and fell asleep. Once again Lucy was the ultimate trooper, enduring boiling heat on the subway and hikes across the concrete jungle. Alas, we only have pictures of the aftermath, but they are great.

Here is Lucy stripped down and trying to cool/dry off. Of course she is as happy as can be as we are passed out on the bed.

Sean stopped by a deli to grab some fluids, which we downed in no time.

After it was all said and done, we ate lunch/dinner at 5, put Lucy down at 6 (she'd been up since 9:30), and crashed until around 9. Never a dull day in the NYC!
